COVID FREE – 1 YEAR, APRIL 14 2021

Norfolk Manor is proud to announce that they have been COVID FREE since April 14 2020. We attribute our success to 3 things:

Site specific staff: As of Mar 23 2020 all of our only worked at 1 health care setting, Norfolk Manor, with the exception of our amazing on call Nurse Practitioner who was a back up for our nursing staff

Amazing Commitment and Dedication by OUR AMAZING STAFF ( TRUE HEROES) to following proper procedures and following guidelines. Our staff committed to following guidelines, brought work clothes and changed at work, took cleaning supplies home to secure their home environment, followed strict work place isolation protocols and rolled up their sleeves to get the job done when it counted most.

Constantly evolving our policies and procedure on the advice of Public Health and the RHRA to keep pace with roller coaster that has been the last year in health care.

CONGRATULATIONS FOR A JOB WELL DONE

LHIN Services Resume at Norfolk Manor

With 100% of Norfolk Manor residents fully vaccinated LHIN services are set to resume at Norfolk Manor. Norfolk Manor staff have done an amazing job keeping residents safe by moving to a site specific staffing model on March 23 2020. Now a year later with no new covid cases with residents or staff since April 14 2020 and all resident vaccinated LHIN services are set to resume on March 22 2021. In working with the LHIN and PARAMED the services are resuming with a site specific model where PSW’s from Paramed will only be working at Norfolk Manor ( site specific) and not at other community based client locations. All staff are encouraged to also get vaccinated and we are continuing to have staff get tested every 2 weeks.

The resuming of LHIN services now opens the door for Norfolk Manor to resume taking NEW RESIDENTS and those residents knowing that they are entering a safe environment ensuring their health and safety. The commitment by PARAMED to provide site specific staff has gone a long way to reducing the stress and risks associated with outside 3rd party suppliers of PSW’s services.

Norfolk Manor Residents 100% Vaccinated

On March 15 2021 all residents at Norfolk Manor are deemed to be fully vaccinated having received 2 doses of the Pfizer vaccine and having having been 14 days since receiving the 2nd dose. It is a great relief to know that our residents are now vaccinated. On March 23 2020 Norfolk Manor in an effort to reduce the risk of covid 19 restricted access to only persons who were only working at Norfolk Manor. This resulted in Norfolk taking over all LHIN psw services. It has been a long year but rewarding as they approach a milestone. Now with 100% of the residents residing at Norfolk Manor fully vaccinated LHIN funded services are set to resume March 22 2021.

NORFOLK MANOR RESIDENTS TO GET VACCINE

Norfolk Manor residents are set to get their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine on January 17th 2021. This is wonderful news. Residents their families and our staff are excited that our residents will soon have some additional protection against this awful virus.

Thanks to Public Health our residents will be able to stay at Norfolk Manor and there will be a clinic held at the residence.

We are very encouraged as 100% of our residents have committed to getting the vaccine.

NORFOLK MANOR is FULLY SPRINKLERED

On track to be completed by the end of March 2020 things ground to a halt as we all know. As things started to open up we were able to continue and thanks to our diligent contractors and other local community partners we have been able to get things finished. So as of July 23 2020 We are live !!

Having upgraded our smoke alarm system and panel in 2018 this was the final stage in our retrofit and we are excited knowing that we have the very latest safeguards in place to keep our residents safe.

Socially Distance Indoor Activity Resumes

Today Volunteer Tracy come in , was screened and held a scheduled activity doing TRIVIA. Residents were asked to remain socially distanced throughout the activity. It was a success and everyone enjoyed the glimpse of normalcy ( except for wearing the masks of course).

Looking forward to slowly adding more to our activity roster in the coming weeks.
